I have to wonder why the beginning Kytar teacher NPCs are set to teach skills to such an extent mentors are unnecessary for chars starting there. I consider those NPCs cheater NPCs. No other starting area has such advanced teachers and no area should.

I actually believe a change has gone in to have all trainers in newbie areas teach amateur and maybe novice skills in a manner such as you are describing.

Are mentors supposed to be required? I always thought mentors were an option. It never seemed to me there was ever a properly suitable mentor online when I first create my characters. I always pursue a mentor for my character regardless of skill levels. It doesn't hurt to have friends in low (or high) places. Apologies if you are in opposition to the ratings, but I've followed all areacheck guidelines within. I'm pretty sure I wanted it to be a more useful area and its certainly better than what I was faced with before I added any changes.

Mentors are hard to come across at times, especially for those of various unlucky timezones and true newbies (who don't understand the mentor command or who are too shy to use it). I don't understand why, at the very least, under mentor level skills and spells shouldn't be easily obtainable.

There is still a benefit to finding a mentor, though. Those training sessions are, more often than not, free. You also have the chance to RP and make bonds with other characters. Aaaand mentors often give advice and even equipment to those they help train.

In conclusion: mentor command>NPC trainers. But when no one responds, it's nice to be able to find the NPC you need to train your stuff so you can keep on playing.

To me, it's not an issue of mentoring, it's an issue of balance.

If there are going to be great trainers in one n00b zone, there should be some changes done to Teron's n00b zone first, and then re-evaluate the trainers in other areas afte.r

If all starting areas have NPCs that train to superb-minus-one, I will have no problem with it, even though some starting areas only train amateur skills and restricted by class. The issue at hand is most starting areas train to a point far below that and one starting area will not cross-train, meaning your amat skill is my novice skill but I cannot train it at all.

If you want superb-minus-one open to all classes, regardless of skill level, balance it out in the starting areas.

Like I said, if that happens, I will not complain at all. It is rare that I find a mentor while I'm amateur.

lol. Not every place has sick armor like exile.

Not every place has sick exp as nerina.

everything dont have to be exactly the same as each one. If you want them vgood skills, then go there and learn it. Quit crying cause its not everywhere.
