It doesn't say: "<pet> regains its footing." when it gets back up?

I don't think anything shows that yet. That change is going in next time I make an update, but it hasn't happened yet.

Edit: However, my pet failed a trip, Dulrik's was tripped so maybe there's a glitch there.

Test it with a bay dressier and bill/lathron/waish in front of you.
