Priests should get an earlier attacking spell or Second attack sooner.
Ive said this in another post before. My idea for an earlier spell would be something like light harm.

It could be Either an amateur or novice spell.

It would have about the damage of the cause light spell and the casting time of the magic missile spell.
Perhaps it could have the required mana of the Spear of Faith spell or flamestrike or something.

But this would help the training of the priests much easier from Novice/amateur - jman less painful for priests. Pure grinding with 1 attack is horrid.

If you dont like this idea, then perhaps the Second Attack skill could be moved down to where you can learn it at Initiate instead of Veteran.
This wouldnt make them overpowered or anything but just help the training a little.

Priests and Shamans both need something to make the lower levels less of a pain in the behind.

Shamans get axe and usually are rolled with higher strength then the average priest, so theirs isnt too bad.
But priests really suck at leveling from amateur - jman

I'd rather see second attack moved down than another spell added. Priests do not need another spell.

That being said, I've never had a problem leveling a priest. They may be a bit slower and more boring at early levels, but they level so fast once you hit j-man that it evens out.

Of course, I've leveled priests more than any other class, so I'm a terrible judge of how quickly others level priests. I just know that I can level them at an acceptable rate.

The problem is more that clerical weapon types don't do enough damage. There's a reason people keep trying to skimp on strength when making these characters. Melee is of little value at higher levels, where most of the game is played.

Maces and flails could do a bit more damage, and axes could be a little faster.

Axes are fast enough to give up to 2nd attack, so they don't need a speed boost.

Maces and flails are actually quite deadly also, just slow and inaccurate(which matters little also in PvE).

And most priests/shamans forget the awesomeness of the spell called frenzy. :o

I use frenzy...And it helps little to none :/

Getting 1 hit with a flail/mace is just suck. Plain and simple.
