This may have been brought up once or twice before, but why does a deep-elf get mastered deep tongue and a elf doesn't get mastered sylvan?

As it is now I believe deep-elves, dwarves & gnomes get deep tongue mastered, yet an elf has to learn sylvan.

The difference to me is that if you want Sylvan mastered, you can always start in Ayamao. There was no recourse for the underground races to start the game with their ancestral language mastered.

So I'll receive mastered Sylvan tongue if I start in Ayamao? Guess I'll buy that. Should give the deep races a deep starting city then and do the same to those classes.

The problem is historical, since dwarves and gnomes can NOT start from the same city for historical reasons, and of course, none of them would stay in the same city with a deep-elf.

Can no longer start a deep-elf in Ayamao, things have changed.

Not everyone does that. language system should be harder to perfect than a simple spamming like that.

So just because you don't do that you want to make it harder for those that do?

I really hope the IMMs don't care if you're spamming languages. As twinkish as it may be, it's really hard getting around the realms past novice or so without having languages at superb. People get frustrated when they can't understand what you're saying if you're not a true newbie. And finding the places that train it to superb can be difficult for newbies and expensive for all of us.
