Should voodoo be changed?

Why are they half healers?

A shaman is far equally effective as a healer as a priest, and he can actually be better than a priest in many aspects. If I had to choose for a PvP or PvE companion as a warrior class, I'd take shaman over priest every day.

What you propose would make shamans a totally overpowered class that would outtank and outdamage mercs.

Lower the concentration on Spirit Aura, remove Voodoo, and give shamans Protection.

I agree shamen are elite. I'd take an Ain priest over a shaman, though, both being well-prepared (and of couse somewhat situational) because of :
gate, summon, scrolls, holy word, and religious spell (harm and spear of faith aren't bad either, but are pretty much balanced against shaman damaging spells if not a little weaker).

Shamans are not men that are sha, so the appropriate plural is not shamen. It's shamans.

SHAMANS.

Look at WoW, they can even dual wield on there :/

They are 1/2 melee and 1/2 healer.

Please do not use this argument ever again.

Voodoo is either completely useless for [REDACTED] players or overpowered for good players. The argument, just kill them for their mana eq isn't a reasonable point if you ask me. It's plenty easy for a shaman to hide all day and voodoo only when there's 10 ppl online and the target has 0 friends to help him. In that situation the shaman has 0 risk of death, and the target gets to instantly die and lose all his or her eq. I never disliked voodoo until with prot up, i got instantly killed as a rogue at 8 am with 7 ppl online and 0 allies, then I realized how completely unfair the spell was. The fact that situations like that can arise where voodoo is completely overpowered, rare as those situations may be, makes it an unfair spell to have in the game. For the sake of the 95% of shamans who have useless voodoos and for the sake of those chars that can be instantly killed with 0 chance of survival or equipment recovery, the voodoo spell should be removed from the game and shamans should be given access to something else more useful to your average shaman.

Voodoo needs to die. It's basically an automatic "I win" versus everyone except fighter classes, or people who have access to 24/7 sanctuary.

On a sprite sorc(magic resistant) with durable CON, 60+ mp and a GM level shield spell(which I never have up, I just cast it because I knew there was a double voodoo coming) up, it does 88% damage(with a crappy [REDACTED] suit of eq and no doll) god forbid someone put in the five minutes it'd take to gather 7 or so pieces of eq that are extremely easy to get and come with greater ME on them(I gathered six pieces for Todd a few days ago in like fifteen minutes, and most of that time was spent waiting for a repop). Damn I feel sorry for all the human/half-elf/gnome sorcs/necros/warlocks and the occasional priest who doesn't have sanc up.

Any average(most people don't have 60+ mp and a GM level shield spell) non-magic restant race scout/rogue/bard, would have died from the voodoo that hit my Sorc.

God forbid we factor in a doll and a good suit of mana eq. That'd probably come damn close to dropping your average merc/barb.

The shaman class is so much more than just OMGZ I VOODOO YOU. And that is all anyone seems to do with it lately.
