I know characters do not need to drink or eat, but it helps them recover faster. My question is do animals need to eat or drink?

In terms of mechanics? No.

In terms of RP? It's probably something even the most hardened hellion would do. :)

So if pets do not eat or drink it will not effect their recovery time? Just wondering because I know when you morph into a cat or whatnot you still get hungry.

It's really just NPCs in general don't get hungry or thirsty. More of a code thing than an RP thing, of course, but it's true and isn't worth fixing (Because fixing it would make things not only make things more taxing on the server, but really [REDACTED].)

For the same reason, morphing into an animal will not make you immune to hunger or thirst, as you are still a PC.

In short, it's not a bug, its a feature!

Probably not as bad as you think. And it would be totally expected if we ever were given the ability for pets to gain experience like a PC, so that they're skills/spells can be tailored to assist you.

If they made pets hungry and thirsty I'd not have one. Ever. Tamagotchi SKs for the lose.

I didn't think it was a bug, RP wise maybe the animal drinks and eats when your not looking.
