Shattered Kingdoms

Right. So I don't play a scout, but I was recently hunting mithril lions with one, and I can't believe what's happened to the skin ability. I counted for a while, and 80% or more of the skins were mangled. By a GM scout. Does anyone else think this is incredibly tedious?

The rumor is, and correct me if I'm wrong, that D wanted to cut down on the glut of mithril available in the game. If that's true, then might it make more sense to simply decrease the number of skinnable mithril NPCs in the game and/or make them more challenging to reach?

The mangling applies across the board, too, as my scout buddy reports mangling 7 bronze skins in a row. Bronze. For lowbies. Shocking.

I'm sure some logs can be dredged up if necessary.

It is nowhere near an 80% fail rate, just to clarify. Missing skins unlike the old days makes people annoyed, I understand, but yawwwwn.

I had to kill 100+ white dragons to get a nice set of dragonscale for my scout, and yeah, you mess up 1/2 or so, but you don't mess up 4/5.

Fair enough. Maybe my GM scout buddy didn't have skin mastered? I'm not sure how that's possible, but I guess it's possible. I watched him fail at over 80%. Which made me feel bad for him.

I (on Elura) mangled up to a maximum of 6 dragon skins in a row, multiple times..and uh, I never EVER succeeded at more than like 3 in a row.

I've seen it fail 4/5 easily, all the time. In my faction we go through enchanting mithril skins like candy, hundreds of skins.

On a GM scout buddy with skin mastered the failure rate was 60%. That was everything from the flying bronze thingies in Uxmal to the lions. I think he already had a QQ thread here somewhere....
