Bards rock the house. Shield block would make them too good. Sometimes logic must yield to balance.

Persuade doesn't suck. I remember this one time we ran into a necromancer and Sithara persuaded him to disband his group, and that happened right after he got taunted. This was also before taunt sucked and you could get out of it. That guy got brutalised.

Just because the class doesn't get the shield block skill doesn't prevent a character from wearing a shield. In fact, the character will still gain the bonuses of extra protection and will take less damage just by wearing one. Try it out sometime.

They're lightly armored singer-dancers. Shields are clunky. It just doesn't go.

As a support class I don't really see the purpose of them getting shields, either.

I mean really...A priest can use a shield but a bard cant?

Bards are WAY more melee than a priest, unless you have a sick tank for a pet infront of the bard, he will go down quick in 1 on 1.
