Are you kidding me? Iron rapes deep-elves and elves. Deep-elves will never be able to make a reflex save against the damage portion of color spray, etc etc.

Racial BONUSES.

Yeah, the weaknesses are insane. The bonuses are almost impossible to notice though.

Notice I said racial bonuses. Racial weaknesses are ridiculously powerful in comparison to their supposedly balancing bonuses. Thus, racial bonuses make almost no difference in all but the very slimest margin of situations, but racial weaknesses are crippling in any situation in which they can be exploited.

uh if you a suit with 8-10 enchants on every piece you will be fine against color spray and bog as a delf.

I think that perhaps, long ago in the days of yore when all of this stuff was thought up, the creators in their wisdom believed that living to 275 years was enough of a "racial bonus" to merit having extremely mediocre stats.

What they didn't quite realize was that living to 275 means nothing if you die 500+ times on the way...

I agree that racial bonuses do not seem congruent to racial weaknesses. They should have equivalent impact.
