BoG is okay.

It is a unique spell for a class that does not have many followers lately. And still it is nothing special.

It's drastically overpowered IMO.

ZOMFG GET A MIRROR IMAGE SCROLL(there's like INFINITE powerful scrolls in the game) OR STAFF. Maybe if you didn't [REDACTED] off THE WHOLE MUD someone would scribe for you.

I love how everyone is like "this class and this class together can rape a necro!" Uh...it's a GROUP of PCs vs 1 PC...dur. Necros hardly ever use their spellset. A necro with a single control in a group WITH OTHER PCs, CASTING THEIR SPELLS can be devastating. Also, Zaerth is a complete [REDACTED], and runs around with like 1 control and 1 animate. (That's not a very good group for fighting more than 1 pc or a paladin at all...and guess what, he only fights usually, 1 pc who is resting or sleeping in an inn, zomg a real challenge and he died, what a surprise) Guess what! If you used ANIMATES the paladin really shouldn't have time to BoG you. (Oh wait, I forgot, I guess it's hard to gather animates when your tactics consist of log on, attack someone within 5 minutes of logging on, and then log off 2 minutes after the fight.) Can undead dirt kick or not? I mean wtf, O ALL LAND prior to combat, and O ALL DIRT PALADIN I'm sure ONE OUT OF FIFTEEN+ WOULD LAND.

The only class (without having a law NPC) that stands a chance against a PREPPED necro is a Paladin...OMG WAH WAH BoG IS OVERPOWERED, MY NECRO CAN'T KILL EVERYBODY!


The problem isn't BoG, it's deep-elves. They are the worst race in the game, right along with elves. Sub-par stats for EVERYTHING(except an elf bard) and MASSIVE WEAKNESSES.

But BoG can be handled with enchants, I mean really. You probably had crap for reflex(and bad dex), and seriously.."some mp"? Wtf? My level 10 merc in glistening tanso has "some mp". MR SUIT WITH SPELL WARD -OR- SHIELD SPELL, MIRROR IMAGE, ETHEREALFORM, BLIND THE PALADIN, LOTS OF OTHER THINGS. Sorry, PKing people who AREN'T resting/sleeping in inns alone takes a bit of thought.

Zaerth saying anything about anyone "griefing other players" made me laugh, a lot. I mean seriously? Coming from the guy who has e-drained multiple characters for like 2-3 levels? Nobody likes you, go away.

Seriously...BoG is the necro killer, and the deep-elf killer. It is going to DESTROY a deep-elf necro. It's a trade off for being like the only class who can kill medium numbered PC groups solo. Wow...you have to watch out for two spells! BoG and HW...TWO CLASSES. And Necros > every other class in 1v1 situations.

God, "why is a spell that can be cast 3 times in 2 rounds this powerful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" BoG only lands on like less than 30% of the Mud's characters...It has to be pretty powerful. Paladins are designed to wtfpwn necromancers. Please refrain from crying, when a class that is pretty garbage in every other situation does what it is designed to do...wtfpwn necromancers.

I find it funny that the class is gimp because it can rape nearly any other pair of class combos 2v1 except those with a paladin involved. Somehow a class that has the capability to nearly any other pair of pc's is all of the sudden gimp.

[edit] If a necro does get hit by a bog and the necro started the battle, it is the necro's fault.

The real point of this thread should be that mirror image is too powerful of a spell, because it turns an average necro into an absurdly powerful necro.

Until someone gets smart and just kills the necromancer from the next room.

Gee...ranged comabt, let's just ignore that every class in the game but barbarians gets that.

Avoid pk'ing against paladins?

Barbs even do now with slings.

It doesn't change the fact that necros are immensely powerful, however.

Sling-use is limited to the room you're in.
