In seriousness I think bards are okay. I don't like that they can't use staves, I seem to remember that at one point they could. Other than that I don't have real complaints.

But all of this serious thought is being undermined by the persistent image of a centaur dancing with all four feet to something with a disco beat.

Scouts used to get staves - if bards could it would be ridiculously overpowered. Non-vocal brandishing while singing... *shudder*

I was thinking more of fly staves but I see your point. (Though there are a host of things you can't do while singing, I wouldn't mind staves being one of those. But I can see how it might be overpowered.)

But SCOUTS with staves! Noooes! They could be butchering AND brandishing! That would be completely broken.

Scouts with staves were broken, hence why it was rectified. Magical devices should not be given to more classes - if anything, some devices should be expunged.

Give shamans scrolls!

Scouts with staves were hell on wheels. I know because I had one. Super over powered.

When they had staves, melee ambush, and pets with double attacks from haste...oh man..those were the days.
