Ummm when? Maybe the player pool as just enchanted some of the armor and weapons that they give to their charmies more often. This way it seems that cancellation go nerfed but the charmies are really just resisting the spell.

If I remember right they nerfed cancellation and gave cloth priests remove compulsion which basically does what cancellation used to do. Probably an attempt to make cloth priests more appealing.

Cancellation never checked saves - hence why it was awesome against charms, and why it got "nerfed" (eg. remove compulsion got its affects and were limited to clothies). Just checking against the level of the spell you're trying to cancel.

No one is complaining about charm being used on non-pcs. The problem comes with Charm being used on PCs. It is an isntant I-win spell without restrictions.

Since everyone gets instant win against sorcs, I think it's just fine if a sorc gets an instant win spell. The spell is a gamble anyways since if you are smart enough to get lots of willpower, it nearly always fails and the sorcerer usually dies trying to cast it. Anyone with a weapon with reach gets the first hit no matter what. As a sorcerer, you're only real protection is ethereal form and it's hard to cast charm on someone with that up. Charm has already been wimped plenty.

Six pages and not a single definitive response as to what the charm spell actually entails... something that pretty much decides the relevance of the thread's first post.

Can we please get some final clarification?

Why would the immstaff give a response to charm person RP? If Dulrik or anybody else steps up then people are going to take it as gospel truth.
