Making scripted spells from items come with a higher "price" just widens the gap between people in cabals and people in tribunals who can get their armor/bless/prayer/frenzy/giant strength etc from a horde of NPCs and on top of that don't have to play "beat the flatulent relic piñata" every two weeks.
I have to admit I was actually quite pleased with scripted items as it were, even though I don't have any myself.
How about the poor people that don't join anything. Screw me. Thanks.
Already HAD to find scripted crap to even try and get on par with everybody else. Now that's probably not even worth doing. So, stay Independent, and you get put at a massive disadvantage...cabal members get 5 pretty good skills/spells, and a practically impenetrable hiding spot, unless you have like 5 enemies on, and no allies. Tribunal members get a GM(or massive hp) level warrior to hide behind. Sorcs and priests/etc, for buffs. Some Tribunals even get NPCs that can make gates and rifts, or even NPCs with taunt.
Also, Demon, it's not just prayer and lighten load.
Armor, Prayer, Shield, Lighten Load, Infravision, Fly, Haste, Giant Strength, Frenzy, Gate, Rift. Did I forget anything? Of course that's all on top of the fact that you also have access to an extremely buff warrior NPC.
I find it absurd that you basically lose in PK if you don't join a faction.
God forbid a faction member get mad at an independent character over something. That character is completely screwed.
