WoW has 3-D, and leveling isnt boring because your questing the whole time your training and doing new things.

There just something about typing kill *** for 150 hrs that makes it so dang boring on sk.

Going off of what fluff said, a small variant. Since the game tracks how many hrs your play, you make so that once the mentor, if you don't have (choosing arbitrary number) 75 hrs on the char, you only get half-xp (still arbitrary), if you are at champion and you don't have 125hrs, you get half-xp. It will still allow people to gain xp, but will make a huge enticement w/o actually restricting them. Once again, all of the numbers above are completely arbitrary.

Master lvl bards needs persuasion and songs fixed so that work more effectively on gm chars.

I have an idea! O god.

I think there should be more incentive to RP Like small exp gains for emotes used with another player? Better ways to emote, like Pmote where the person sees You when the pmote is directed at them rather than there name or adj. This would provide a small exp boost so people would RP more.

I don't know what kind of training to you employ, but if you're doing nothing but going typing kill <NPC> for who knows how many hours, then you're doing something wrong.

In fact, lately there have been several changes to make leveling more interesting. It's really mind-boggling how people complain that leveling that makes you visit numerous other areas and actually explore, solve quests and actually think about what you're doing is considered more boring than what it used to be when you had a maximum of 5-6 leveling areas.

What I find extremely positive about the recent changes is that leveling has actually become easier in the lower levels, when you are more likely become to bored to continue. Now those levels just fly by. Not to mention the fact that you can get several --SEVERAL-- levels from exploration alone. Not even mentioning the changes to quests and the constant addition of new quests that yield either money, experience, useful items or perhaps all of the above.

I truly don't see how someone could be doing nothing but typing kill <NPC> for 150 hours, disregarding common sense, rp and everything that actually makes this game fun.

This whole attitude "Let's screw the people who know how to level faster, just because there are those who don't" is just wrong on so many levels. It's as if all the people who don't know how to level can't actually learn, it's not really rocket science. Sure, the actual leveling can be pretty dull and repetitive, but what do you expect, it's like that in all games. What keeps you excited are the future prospects, new skills, better equipments, improving your character, not the actual labor involved in achieving it.

I would just like to conclude this post with the following: It seems that the main concern of someone people is that the so-called twinks or powergames or wtv have the upper hand because they can reach gm faster and beat their scrawny little character into a bloody pulp, but guess what I bet you that a truly skilled player would beat you equally with a master as he would with a grand master. There is always going to be a gap between casual players and those who spend more time playing it. It's only natural. And quite frankly I don't see any changes that could lower the gap, nor do I think there should be any -- everyone gets an equal opportunity.

This is so [REDACTED]. Dont require levels to require hrs. Some people dont even get to play that much and when they do they spend their time leveling their characters if they aren't GM. Making them spend more time on the game just to be able to level decent will just make it worst.

Well, the limit could be aimed at character age, which progresses when offline. So if you say you need to be 18 for champion, and 20 for GM, then the occasional players get to be unaffected, and it still stops people from suddenly appearing as magically created GMs.

No one suddenly appears as a magically created GM. They level up just like anyone else could.

If you noticed what I said, it would only happen to get from Master through GM. So, instead of lvling through those, those people can still grind if they want to but the enticement is to actually RP.

I'm not sure I like your idea, Muktar, because it's still going with the idea of a set amount of hours. Yes, it's better than just "you must be this tall to enter," but it's still "height-based," if you get my bad analogy.

Adroan: NO. Emotes =/= RP. That's a really, really bad idea, mate.
