As a replacement ability for voodoo.

The shaman is able to summon a friendly deceased PC spirit, upon summoning the spirit the Shaman can use his spirit powers to extend his abilities into the spirit. While the shaman is in contact with his dead ally the spirit is able to function as a servant an affect the real world. Basically you give pseudo life to the character, they are able to use their abilities while the shaman holds the spell, caster draw their mana from the mana of the Shaman, and fighters draw upon the hit pool and mana pool of the shaman. When the Shaman falls the spirit is released back to it's natural state.

would need some tweaks to it, but dead characters and people waiting for a priest may be able to find some play with the Shaman.

I like this idea. It has both RP and PK potential.

So basically the Shaman would be fighting by proxy, as this summoned spirit-wraith?

Kind of like you would charm a NPC, except the PC has control of his character although somewhat limited to spell/skill to avoid abuse.

The shaman would give power to the spirit with his own mana, so the spirit/wraith had life/mana but it was all b ased off the shaman, would give you a nice tank or utility for a while and quite possibly set up some RP where a bunch of dead evil-guys get together and take over the shaman and try to destroy the world, or whatever.

The PC spirit would become like a charm only with more control and in the end they just go back to the river.

There are plenty of people who have age dead chars that may love to use this as a way to extend their characters shelf-life.

Just and idea.

Also not a bad idea, but with these last two ideas of shamans, I'm starting to feel like people are watching a certain cartoon and bringing those ideas here. Gotta admit that they are interesting ideas to think about in the realm of SK.

Never watched it.

Just a random idea. Give flavor to Shaman and remove Voodoo and put something really neat into place.

Could be interesting but sounds like a [REDACTED] to code.
