Make a sorc and abuse the hell out of it. We should all do that.

Bug abuse wins.

There's a difference between using an ability to its fullest and bug abuse. I've already said that the ability to drop/kill charmies from the air is now considered a bug, so if you abuse that you will be penalized. Demonstrating other exploits to me via logs may cause me to also classify them as bugs and put them on the list of things to be fixed. At that point, using them further would be grounds for penalization.

The ease that it lands even with enchants.

For a jaman skill it is overpowered, I think Ardith had it right when he said set it at mentor and call it enthrall that is a good place to start.

My Mentor level skill is junk compared to it, even in it's itty bitty limited range. 12+fails in a row on a skill that is near mastered on NPCs more than 10 under my level is a joke.

Journeyman level sorc charming the crap out of champion level pc's npc's is crap, the skill should have a level check like everything else seems to.

This has been reported several times and it is on my list of things to investigate in depth. I DID already look at the code. It goes through the same path as every other spell with a saving throw, so there should be nothing special about it. But there might be some subtlety I will only track down by stepping through in the debugger.

Well properly enchant your armor then. You'll fail a few times before it lands with a properly enchanted suit, and if it hits on the first try even after -- it was a bad roll. Even adding +30 willpower will save you a few times to anything except to probably a GM sorc. And even then, I found that you can still resist it a few times (1-3) (enough to get the point across and walk out of the room...or do something about it).

Highly unlikely that a journeyman PC will charm a champion PC.

I believe the new charmed person is slightly over powered. Some would argue but let me state this.

When charmed you can't bash, headbutt, berserk, most likely trip, kick, dirt kick, or flee. That is in a fight. You can't send tells or cabal messages. And you can't do anything to help free yourself at all. Because it all requires them for you master to command it.

Well when someone orders me to kill somone naked and expects me to lose....I want to try to do something to get me out so I can live...

I don't know I think the thing I hate most about charm and even dominate is the violation my character has to go through, it's like character rape, you are violated and forced to do things you would never do on your own.

Rape RP is wrong in the game but rape spells are ok. :drunk:
