SK has some really great features for groups. The formations, the group xp bonus, plus all the great synergies of people working together. What I want to propose is a way to make it easier for people to group up together.

So, there you are. You just got out of newbie school and you're looking for people to level up with. Why not, right? It makes things more fun and you get more things accomplished. Now, what if there was a way to announce that you are looking to set up a party for the purposes of leveling? A way that did not involve an annoying yell throughout the streets of Exile. Or, maybe you want to announce that your party is looking for more members to head over to the Caverns of the Dead (or whatever that place is called now). This is some pretty important information for those people that can benefit from training in that place! A post on the astral boards is too slow (who checks that crap anyway?)

There could be something almost like the who list of party leaders who wanted their party to be public. Perhaps it should be visible only to people that are +/- 1 status level from the party leader (that way we avoid Algon and Teh_Peso looking for newbs to kill).

This might also encourage people to learn more languages at earlier levels, as they will need to speak more than their native tongue if they want to group up with people outside of their nation.

What do you all think? Any foreseen problems with an idea like this? Is it beneficial? Is it viable? Would it be used?

I like the idea of making grouping and finding group mates easier. Perhaps make it similar to the mentor command that its only able to be used in Inns? I'm sure I'd also like a way to not be involved in public grouping if I'm busy. I wonder how hard something like this would be to add.

How about this.

Who Group - It shows everyone within your level range maybe 2-3 levels. Not saying you will not be able to tell Aura's you would have to ask around to the people you can group with.

Just an Idea! :)

There's no need to make finding people easier: PCs can already send tells. This would just make the game more OOC and WoW-like, to be able to determine another person's status via a who list command.

It's easier for WoW and Warhammer to get away with a system like this because they have no selfish characters. They split their players into good and evil factions who have absolutely no way to talk or interact other than PK. You can show everyone your level because they are guaranteed to be on your team. We can't do that here.
