Irony, thy name is Dulrik.

This means that Shamans should get Enchant Armor/Weapon though, right? ... Right?

There are mroe than a few reasons why a barb might RP getting mr, only one of which is the wary of magic bit. Magic explosion deadens his sensitivity to it, maybe. Or maybe he has some sort of disability (magic impaired)? There's more than one reason someone magically resistant STILL might want enchanted armor. (Or you could go back to the netHack reason of IT'S ENCHANTED! IT MUST BE BETTER!)

And no. Shamans should not get enchant spells.

Mira could so love a barbarian that even when her spells fail him, he is healed by their presence.

As far as how good it is, I agree that it is highly equipment dependant and it's probably that the EQ doesn't yet exist to allow you to demonstrate the full potential. But I have to balance features around the theoretical maximum. Now there is a reason for builders to actually make MR gear, so I am sure we will see some more.

I will cry if I ever see a suit of adamantite that starts with Greater MR on every piece.

I just find it very humorous that this build, which seems to have been created out of the RP concept of barbarians being wary of priest/sorceror magic, involves a barbarian knowing what magical enchants (mostly placed by a priest or sorceror) are on his suit, and not only that, but seeking out priests and sorcerors to place MR on his suit.

I think it's valid role-play to say that MR represents a negative magic potential, so it makes sense for the barbarian to prefer armor with negative magic rating more than just armor that is magic neutral.

That's true but... you still have to hand your stuff over to a sorc/priest to enchant it to do that (If you're serious about it). I'm not saying that it's the most horrible thing ever, just that it seems more than a little out of place.

Just try to think outside the box a little bit. You are handing it over to them so they will purge it of their dirty magics. Of course it would be better if you could find native Greater MR-only gear. I hope we have builders who want to make WickedWitch cry.

Technically, I think that IS thinking outside the box.
