From what I understood the first 10 enchants on a piece of armor do not raise its quality? If I am mistaken please delete this thread. I have been enchanting a lot of armor lately, I have found that about 4 single enchants after the armor fades, it raises quality. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

When you enchant, if it fades, the quality that you'd increased stays on it. It's always been that way.

Ok thanks. But does that not take away from the whole 10 enchants on the armor thing?

Armor can fade after 1 enchant, or sometimes it'll take like 15, it's very random. Take it from a guy whose probably done more enchanting than 99% of the mud, there is no rhyme or reason behind enchanting.

I'm pretty sure that what Adroan is referring to is the change about thieves not being affected by the first X enchants: Wasn't this put into effect some time ago? (I thought it was 5 personally).

I'm pretty sure that while the quality of the piece will go up, logout thieves still aren't affected by the first 5 levels or so of enchanting.

That change didn't affect how enchanting works. It affected how the thieving code works. The first X enchantment levels don't count toward stealing. But the item still goes up in level as normal for other purposes.

One time I got a pair of gloves that was poor quality and enchanted it up to NGL without fading it. Hilarity.
