Does anyone know if under the new limbless rule that you stop earning xp if you hack off a NPC's limbs?

I'm not sure what new limbless rule you're talking about. Its nothing new and is quite true that if a NPC doesn't have limbs enough to attack, it gives no experience. This has been true for years to my knowledge.

Helpless is not a new rule. There were some new definitions added to helpless a few years ago, but the definition of being helpless when you have no attack limbs has been around for over 10 years.

Peso, go read the shaman leveling thread where we were just having this discussion. Aim upper is not always what you want to do. It depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

Lower ought be best. Kinda nice when a NPC is unable to use some skills, due to limb loss.

Aiming mid may be the easy road when you don't to be damaged, and for gaining gold, but once a NPC doesn't have hands, you won't gain any further xp against it.

I am curious about something. Would it be a legal script that would trigger when you look at the NPC you are combating and if it sees the triggering condition like to change to aim lower, higher, mid if a limb goes to a certain status?

Edit:

Trigger: Right arm is mangled (I know it is incorrect but using it as a specific).

Effect: Aim lower
