It means you can go to lowbie (and some midbie areas) that have vials that may already contain a spell, and still try to pop another one into them.

(As I'm typing this up, there are several "vial items" lying around in their normal repopped spots and NPCs, so that they're always snatched up isn't quite accurate).

Let's also outline that not every character has access to every place, and that the Imms and more experienced players may have knowledge that not every player has.

Still, it's a good point. It's not really helping with the economic issue of empties costing more than spelled-up ones, but it's worth looking into.

If you wanted to train the skill, why wouldn't you just find and keep empties? There are places in the game that do load empty vials. Even premade vials that aren't sold can still be used for brewing (whether training or actual use).

You know for a fact that their are not that many places to get free vials, certainly not enough to train with or brew successfully with.

Let's just ignore the supremely massive amount of vials that are in the Outpost, a very basic levelling area that I'm pretty sure EVERY newbie goes to at some point. Yeahp.

so because D will refuse to fix problems that he created by not thinking about all aspects about a change. We have to use crappy vials to use to brew crappy heals because we have a crappy system. That makes a whole lot of sense.

Do you have to? No. It's an alternative instead of whining however, although I can tell it's not a popular alternative by far. It's far, far easier to cry foul when you'd really not want to consider looking into something that has BEEN THERE ALL ALONG.

As a side note, the chance of being able to brew a spell into vials of areas like that is extremely low: first off, the quality of said vial is poor and secondly, imbuing more than one spell on a vial - even a powerful one - is very difficult. So in other words, while it is a cheap alternative, you'd be ill-advised to rely on it. Is this fair? Since you get them for free it probably is.

I've done my fair share of brewing and I don't really mind the prices all that much, but I do find the % of successfully brewed vials irritating. It seems to be very low. Either up it or at least stop empty, purchaseable vials from evaporating. I'm comfortable with the pre-made ones being lost after a while to prevent hoarding. Waving your own time and effort goodbye though is a tad annoying.

I think potions should be more plentiful. It would help the grind A LOT if there as a good supply of cheap heal, protection, etc type vials for lowbies. I can understand spells like Heal and such being hard to get hold of, but come on there should be more purchasable cure light vials and such.

Unless I am just showing my newbhood and there already are such in the game and I just cant find them. In that case, ignore me.

Yeah there kind of are, but they do come at a reasonable price. (Or might be hoarded.)

There used to be cheap cure light vials but they were so cheap melee classes would buy a [REDACTED] ton of them and then heal themselves on trips to the outer planes with them. I suppose IMMs didn't like this and quickly got rid of them.
