Humor me and post a line from a log where something evaporates. I'll use that to verify I am checking the right code.

You buy The Battle in the Clouds.
Herbert Wazamalanifarchowski says to you 'Here is 1 copper in change.'
Herbert Wazamalanifarchowski exclaims 'Thank you!'

Investigated that item. It crumbled due to it's own faulty script. Doesn't have anything to do with the scroll/potion problem.

But I found what I think was the problem with scrolls and potions. Guess we'll find out next update, if we see a lot less evaporation.

Two weeks ago I bought 300 vials. They started off at 1.5 plat a piece, and ended up somewhere at 9 plat a piece :(

That wasn't all the result of the demand code. Like a real economy, there were multiple factors at work. Demand by itself probably only tripled the price to 4.5 platinum, which still seems reasonable to me after you just bought 300 of them. But you also dumped at least 150 obsidian into the local economy in a very short span of time. That probably more than doubled the amount of coins in circulation and caused an additional doubling of the prices of ALL items in the kingdom due to inflation. That would account for the price you quoted for the vials.

Are you serious? I was hoping that the code might change soon, so you could actually start using stores again.
From this it sounds like you're perfectly happy with how the economy system works now...

My response was completely serious. But looking at it closer that way, I saw the interaction between demand and inflation wasn't quite to my liking. The two factors were being multiplied together, so if both inflation and demand were multiplying by 3, the total cost got multiplied by 9. For the next update, I am tweaking it to be an additive modifier, so that in the same situation, the price will only be x6. It's a change which will make things better without actually making anyone much happier.
