I may have answered this earlier, but I have a better answer to: What deters you from SK?

Other people being dettered by SK.

The knee-jerk actioned deletions by characters I actually like.
People who don't take ownership of their character's RP and blame others for the lack of RP.
The jadedness some people have toward the game, but who remain, if only to turn other people off.
The people who make characters only to point out/exploit bugs.
So.. on.

While the classes and skills are "balanced", in fact they are not and all need looked at and overhauled.

The game designer doesn't listen unless someone specifically goes out of their way to abuse things until they are nerfed, and usually not balanced.

IE: Charm is still broken, so are scrolls, and the law code is all kinds of wacky and imbalanced, economy code is [REDACTED].

Other than the problem with poison/plague when being put in jail, I can't recall hearing any criticism, constructive or otherwise, of the law system since the latest changes. Other things you mentioned are being tweaked, as I've said to you several times now.
