Plague is annoying, yes. But far from overpowered.
In fact, I know of atleast two necros that haven't even bothered learning it.

I think hunger is overpowered in this case too. Carrying no food around and no cure plague potions that can be store bought is the problem.

plague is the worst malediction in a hellion/necromancer's arsenal.

It's the only one that can backfire on them, it has the longest casting time. In fact the casting time is so long it is unviable to cast in PvP.
