Seeing as how recent changes have made it a much more difficult task to reach GrandMaster, a lot of the skills/spells/aspects of the game on which being GM had a big impact have also seen change to follow the thread of the leveling changes.

It has been made possible to skin the highest quality skins at lower levels. It has been made possible to find the highest quality herbs at lower levels, and the change to enchant armor and weapon to not have the first 10 ilevels added to an item count towards the item being stolen on login.

One spell that has not been looked at however, is locate object. It is still not possible to locate the highest level items before you reach GM and personally I think this could very well deserve a change as well.

Opinions are welcome, changes even moreso!

P.s. The reason I did not draw attention to the other glaring exception to the previous changes, animate dead, is that I feel any buffs to the necromancer class would quite simply cause the mud to blow up.

Agreed, I just hit 50 and the amount of stuff I can locate just doubled compared to 49... Yet my character was "complete" before hitting champion?????

It was probably just overlooked. Serious kudos for bringing this to light, I hope it's changed so that everything's consistent.

Being able to locate items one status higher (+5 levels) doesn't sound like a bad idea. I approve.

Well, in light of the idea that characters should be complete at Master that Dulrik has mentioned repeatedly, perhaps +10 would be a better number. But hey, I'm not too worried about the numbers, I'd just like to see something happen.

That, or 10 ilevels (making to congruent with the log-in thieves) would be brilliant. Hear ye, hear ye.

Might have a look at lore as well. I do not know if that's been updated to reflect this, either.

I'd also like to add that if your character is supposed to be "complete" by 41 you should also be able to use the higher level staves. One of the main reasons for any caster to GM immediately is to be able to make use of staves that are level 50 - being that most any stave that's even worthwile is 46 - 50.

Lore has no relation to character level.

Lore used to have to do with character level. There were certain items that could not be lored successfully unless you were GM, though this may have changed in the last year.

At least that was my experience of it.
