There is a quest in Exile in the judges office and near the palace where you have to go in the cave and insult the guard to make him come out kill him then free the female elf. The elf wont be freed. No mater what you do the elf stays where it is and the quest cannot be completed

You would be better served to bug log this or send an e-mail to the corresponding immortal (Help wizlist in-game) in order to avoid communicating OOC info in the process of reporting this bug.

Also, your signature is funny because it has a typo.

Try leaving pets outside... I had this exact problem on my latest char, and I can't remember what I did to fix it, but might've been a pet thing. Also, make sure you get the killing blow on the jailer.

I actually did it all by myself without any pets at all and nothing worked. Mayby I have the syntax wrong but I thought it was the word *free* or *release* but I tried all kinds of combinations with no luck

I've had this same issue, but it was because someone else was in the room with me when I tried to free the elf. It gave the other guy credit for completing the quest instead of me, and I'm guessing it flags the quest as complete for whoever gets the killing blow with the guard, pets included.

The issue is probably with having a pet as "free" automatically defaults to freeing your pet. Get rid of your pet first and try.
