How confrontational.

This isn't America, champ. You aren't innocent until proven guilty when it comes to me eating paper for a bet. This may surprise you, but I actually don't know who you are in game, nor do I care to have you tell me so I can track you down and grade your adherence to vows. If you're trying to tell me you've never used Flee, Auto-Wimpy or in-combat Recall in your character's life, ever, I am prepared to call you a liar, though. Either that or extremely lucky.

Back on topic, sprites > elves.

I suggest you don't make accusations you are not prepared to defend then. You make a blanket statement, with no actual details and still try to defend it with no idea of who the active paladins are?

I'm not the one being defensive here, Phanty. I don't recall saying that your paladin, specifically, sucked, or any names at all. Or that the paladins sucked in the first place, now that I think about it. A serious paladin player will die. A lot. Most people would rather have fun than be serious and I don't really blame them for it.

It is a game, after all.

I suggest you don't try to wound people with such hurtful words in the future. ; . ;

Look at Yuni. You said show you one paladin. There is one. Now eat your paper. :D

show me a paladin or hellion that strictly follows their respective Code

Speaking strictly from memory, I thought Seram was the bomb. Dunno how close he followed the hellion code, though.

I've played paladins who have used recall in the past, but it has always been called in my RP as a tatical retreat, and shortly after I'm rested up I go right back to fighting whoever it was I was fighting. As long as you don't recall and quit, or hide from whoever you were fighting I see nothing wrong with it.

Though, there are times where you can not use this type of retreat because it would be dishonorable, such as recalling from a fight and letting another party member die because of it. In a case like that you would have to stay and fight till the death until your party either wins, or retreats ahead of you.

I doubt anyone remembers Aevinar, paladin of Aludra, but he never broke the codes and vows he took as a paladin. He never fled, dying rather often. Since he wasn't invested, it was not possible to to cast word of recall. Never had a vial of it. Always had less than two obsidian on him and in his bank account, combined. Enough to buy a new suit of armour and various jewelry to help with stats, repairs and food. Never spoke ill of anyone. Every time he sold something for coins, he would set 1/10th aside to give to the church. He did sneak, but always announced the moment he entered a room with someone and announced when he was leaving. As far as chastity went, he never received a kiss of any sort from anyone and never gave one. He was barely comfortable with hugs. All of it was pretty easy to follow.

Lots of credit to all elf players out there. To me, it's the hardest race to RP properly.

Okay, so they take a close second to sprites.

True that. It's why I've never played an elf.

I don't see why they are so hard, you are not supposed to pal around with delves but, as an elf you don't have to kill every delf you see. You can if you wish, but I think its enough not speaking with them or acting a bit more hostile towards them. It should be unquie with how your char acts. Not specifically defined before hand. :drunk:
