The fact is that I had a character concept that I was seriously committed to, and that character concept involved showing compassion to EVERYONE I could reasonably extend that to. That included deep-elves, and that's something that is a cursable offense. While I would gladly eat a few curses in order to retain my roleplay concept, I don't really think it's worth it to fight this particular battle. The big guy has ruled on it, and that's how it is.

I made a mistake in my conception of what my character should be, and I will let her bow out gracefully, after dealing with some loose ends that I can't in good conscience leave unfinished. I've verified at the highest level that there is NO way an elven character can show compassion to all, because they cannot show compassion to deep-elves and maintain the required enmity. That includes resurrection, but it doesn't only include that. I repeat, it's been ruled on, elves can not knowingly ever resurrect deep-elves, nor show compassion for them in other ways, because the only compassion possible is to eliminate them and let them be reborn into "better" forms.

I want to reiterate, this was MY mistake in how I envisioned her, and I am not trying to blame anyone else for this. But I think it's a lot better for the mud that she go than that she stay and have a radical change of personality after IC years of consistency. I never like it when a character I know suddenly does a 180-degree-turnaround, and I am not putting anyone else through that. Besides, I was playing the character I wanted to play -- changing her would just take the fun out of it for me anyway.

I just wanted to explain so no one else makes the same mistake I did, of thinking religion can override enmity at any point.

Okay, Demon. Before you go too much further with that, I want to point out that Ealuriel has threatened my character at least fifty times with dismemberment, torture, and pretty much anything you can think of.

Isn't that what you were saying you wanted? So why are you criticising her for acting exactly as you were claiming you wanted all along?

Oh yeah, and she killed me too.
