More wisdom = less XP cost of training skills/spells... so does any stat affect how many improves it takes to master a skill?

intelligence increases the number of skill-ups you get with each train, which is why giants require 50 million trains to learn anything. each train costs a fixed amount of XP.

after that, the number of required skill-ups is always the same. intelligence only increases the rate at which you get those skill-ups.

Yeah, it's a good idea to stack INT mods when training/leveling (Once you've maxed the other items which make you train faster, of course) to help master your key skills/spells.

Yes, int helps with skill improvements. Try a delf sometime, you learn skills like mad.

I know that mentors get a little bit of experience when they teach people. Is that dependant on only the number of trains? Or is how much taught set?

(I.E. teaching a Giant versus a Delf, both wanting to learn a language, the Delf will learn it faster, does that mean less experience for the mentor?)

It does, but I've never gotten a notch from mentoring, and my last character got 4 stat points from mentoring.

Are the stat points a thing granted by Immortals? Or is it after a certain amount of trains given? It's only happened once to my character.
