Nor I. And between my GM sorc and GM priest, I spent a LOT of time enchanting.

Let's say there are two people who can enchant for me: somone who has mastered it, but doesn't want to, and somone who's very good, who does.

If I go with the very good, I know that the spell itself will fail more often, but will it also reflect on how easily the item will explode? Or the quality of it?

Honestly, I don't think it matters beyond failing it or not.

Also, there's a superb+ teacher for both enchant weapon and armor that most of the MUD knows about, I think.

I'm going to disagree with this, but purely based on personal experience. It seems to me that the spell will fade/explode an item more if the person casting it doesn't have it mastered, but I haven't done any hard testing to base that on, it's just a gut reaction.

That is correct. Both the level of the spell and the level of the caster play a role when enchanting. The general success rate and the chance of landing doubles (+2) increase. Something else that popped into my mind:

Shrink and enlarge count as enchantments. When you want to work on an item, make sure to keep it at its original size and resize it after the process is completed.

MR is NOT affected by Art. MR will help you resist EVERYTHING except the magma spell. Pretty much the best defense, but it stops all helpful spells too.

I'm sorry if I'm wrong ... but ...

Did you make a typo, or did I miss when it started ignoring MR too?

Magma has always ignored MR. The update made it ignore MP too.

i don't think i saw anyone else mention this, but the reason some people have humming armor is scrolls of silence. if you use them on armor that isn't humming, they start to hum.
