I think that's the biggest issue within a religion.

If you give someone Favor 2, then you really can't practically blemish them, or do anything to them, no matter how counter to the principles of the faith they act. I imagine everyone has examples of this.

So to get Favor 2, you should have to win the trust of the current F3's. However, sometimes an IMM grants F2 (which, in many of these "counter" cases, has been the case). If an IMM does step in and give Favor 2 or even Favor 3 where there are active leaders, then it takes the control out of player hands.

It's possible for an F2 to basically destroy a faith right out from under the F3s, and it's very hard to get IMM support to blemish or demote an F2, regardless of whether they were made F2 through player action or IMM action. Promoting someone to an elevated representative of their faith is easy; removing them from that position seems impossible, even when they act counter to the faith and that is widely known.

Blemishments are often touted as a valuable roleplay tool. But they often can't be used even where they seem most appropriate, for the reasons I've listed.

Wow, it's tempting to respond to that. Instead I'll just say, <3 Syn, and leave it at that.

Say it!

Id like to see tribunals with a F2 type flag. Where a leader can give someone the power to pardon others. This would keep some of the hassle off of people always asking the leader.

I'd rather see a parole option given to a trib F2 than a pardon option.

In general, I agree with Syn.

I guess I'm just in the minority on this one. I agree that bad leaders can keep me out of a group entirely, but beyond that even when I do have the opportunity to take leadership the post doesn't interest me as it is currently configured.

Okay. I'll just say that this thread was made because leadership is a headache. I'll also say that in my personal experience, leadership is a headache because you exist. :P

Again, I have nothing but <3 for syn.

The problem isn't that people don't want it, it is people that get leadership always get leadership. Peso can roll a char and get into a group and because he has been known to be a decent leader he takes over the group. Or the same people that always get to play the leaders take over a group because they do not like the way that it is going. The imm's allow certain players to change thing but when other players who have not been leaders would like the change something they get shot down.

You have to know that we cycle through the same players as leaders. That is a fact.
