Vis-a-vis, more membership? A more direct means of leader accountability, and a more steadfast mandate of leader authority? Its very Hobbes, and I like it! :wink:

Of course, it would be made even more interesting if investment was also a matter of popular vote, to keep decks from being stacked like you imply.

I've seen as much to make me suspect that's already a problem, though?

If the decision-making process is shifted more within the game and in-character, perhaps the issue will only be aggravated further by those who would conspire beyond the spirit of the rules no matter what those happened to be?

Screw voting if you want a shot at leadership then bring in a system to officially challenge a leader for his position

voting for investment? uhh... no. Maybe for laity, but investment is there for Rp and to make sure people have a semblance of the idea. Priests and other clergy types, who show even a remote understanding should be let in. If they are total crackpots, well you can always blemish.

There is nothing in this thread that already hasn't been hashed out already about the system. While I think Dulrik is on the doom and gloom end of this, I understand why he says what he says. I think that the alternative of leaving the guessing to the active IMMs will only lead to my burnout. What I think the hardest part of my job has been is dealing with the debates and whines about leadership. This system will have its short points. I believe that IMMs are not the best people to decide who a group should have as leader. We can make good choices, but more often than not I'm just following the suggestion of an existing leader, likely one who plans on deleting. There is no reward for promoting good leadership. There is no punishment for promoting bad leadership. It simply is a really saddening fact of the game. Allow the players to affect the direction of their own cabal by putting time into the game and supporting their members. I think that the current setup is the biggest drain on Shattered Kingdoms. Fighting and bickering over leader flags irritates me to no end. This system will allow for as much role play as before. It simply doesn't reward people for going OOC in any greater amount than staying IC. Right now, the ONLY way to get a leader flag is to go OOC.

I believe the buzz word is "ownership."

My props to the people doing the grunt work to put things together. I hope it winds up making things a little less tedious and a bit more fun for everyone affected.

Do you mean like, ooc yim or like i have to pray ooc or send a pm to get the flag switched?
