I've spent some time looking at the help files of scribe and it doesn't help me enough. Some spells I see I can scribe just fine, but other spells it says I don't have enough mana. Even when my mana says it is at 100.
Etherealform is the spell that seems to give me trouble. I don't quite understand that one. Anyone have any ideas?

The amount of mana that Scribe uses doesn't depend on the mana you already have. 100% is only exciting if you have high maximum mana.

Etherealform is something most sorcs can't scribe as soon as they get the skill, unless they also get equipment to boost mana. Boosting your wisdom also helps if you're not at your racial maximum.

100 is just a percentage of an entire pool of mana which varies for every character.

Things such as equipment, or WISDOM can increase your mana pool.

Etherealform takes a LOT of mana, probably the most out of any spell to scribe. As has already been stated, you'll want to make sure your WIS is maxed, and perhaps find some equipment which increases your magical energy if that isn't enough. Gaining levels also increases your mana pool, very dramatically at higher levels.

That is probably the most important part.

Seriously, between lvl 41 and lvl 50 (Master1 to GM) my mana cost for casting Finger of Death went from about 18-20% to 12%. Scribing it, dropped nearly 2% mana cost per level.

If you haven't maxed Wis though that would be another big problem.

Well, that was what was confusing me. I do have my wisdom max on my char. But if my mana pool will rise or rather the cost of my spells falls with me leveling up, I guess I am just not high enough level. I an scribe other things such as charm person and what not, Just not etherealform.

Etherealform takes a LOT of mana to scribe. The total number on your mana pool will rise as you gain levels, so in a few levels you'll probably be able to scribe it.

20 wis, GM, and 10 mana trains, ethereal takes me like 72% to scribe.
