massive amounts of RP
This is more a general question than en address to the FS issue. How do you measure RP in ammounts? is there someone who gives RP points? Certain points that award you RP coins?
In the end of the day, someone's rp might be stellar to one party and utter garbage to another - My point being, when discussing mechanics stick to mechanics. Everything and anything can be justified with RP if you dig hard enough.
Anyone can pull up a story why their elf got so frustrated, temporarily lost his mind and in a gesture of self sacrifice finalstriked the other elves that were not seing the 'truth of things' as he did, etc.
Question is not if there is RP behind finalstrike but wether it should be the drawback to the spell, or if the drawback should be something else entirely.
Not being able to resurrect for a week is a drag for players who actually play their chars but doesn't feel like much to a casual player, thus making more silly fs's possible.
Personally, I would see finalstrike being truly final. Unless X number of PCs approve by some coded way (prayer to a temple about caster's soul?) for the caster's return in turn for some sacrifice of their own, the caster can never be brought back again. Fair, no?
