Okay. I just wanna know if this was intentional and if anyone else finds it just a little bit annoying.
(All decimals rounded, if you wanna check the math.)
The barbarian newbie armor from Exile wieghs 90lbs at medium size.
At giant size, it wieghs 276. Three times the weight for twice the size (medium is a 6 feet person, giant is a 12 foot person). At amataur status, no leveling, the max carrying capacity (without mods) is 401.5 for a human. For a giant of the same level and class, 501.5 pounds.
So for a medium character the wieght of the armor take sup 22% of the total they can carry. For a giant it's 55% of the total weight.

Is it supposed to be like this to make up for the fact that a giant has a giant sized weapon (which i've not included in this) and the extra damage it does, or something similiar?

You must realize this is newbie armor. There's lots of higher level gear that barely weighs anythings at all.

I've had a few giant warriors that all ran around full addy/a few weapons vials etc that was under half weight.

Not really, if you can find the right stuff to keep you low on weight you'll be fine.

Just don't go around with alot of stuff you don't need and you will most likely be under 1/2 weight.

They are correct. Noob armor is generally made out of iron which is considerably heavier than most other materials in the game.

Okay. I changed armor and it weighs less. Went from iron to steel. Weighs about 10 or so pounds less. Wow.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about it at all until you hit PK levels. Just get some plate gear and start owning faces. When you get to jman or so, get some storebought tanso - that'll fix your weight problems. Until then you shouldn't even be worried about carrying stuff anyway.

What exactly are the penalties associated with carrying more than half your max wieght?

If I remember, isn't it like decreased ability to dodge and decreased accuracy?

I have heard dodging and accuracy are affected.

What I am interested in is whether or not dexterity applies to accuracy and/or damage with thrown and conventional ranged weapons.
