I agree that humans are blatantly superior to the other races in sk. Apart from the examples you mentioned, I would add that half-elves might make better bards.

And on top of that, humans are still a great choice for shaman, sorc, necro, bard.

Completely true. And yeah, there's a chance that half-elves might make better bards, but I'd be able to argue that humahns are still better. The only instance where I'd choose another race is for those concentration-dependant classes. Haven't played a sorc in a while, but I'm pretty sure that 2x charmies is easier done with a deep-elf than a human.

That's actually one of the things I'm hoping will change on SK. But it's a reeeeaaally fine balance, I know... There's not a long way from balanced to overpowered in a game like SK. In example, dwarves are probably the most useless race in the game right now. That could be fixed by adding a point or two more dex to dwarves and perhaps lowering their cha by a point or two. Then they'd be considered when creating mercs/barbs, but still not the ONLY race to pick. They'd have decent dex, decent cha, good str and great con. But they'd still have the size disadvantage, which would make some people avoid them.

I could come up with a lot more arguments, such as: Size really does matter, boys. And to make up for a small size, you need better stats than the others.

Since the buff delfs got, I'd say they definitely make better sorcs than humans. Before the buff, I'd have given the edge to humans.

I would prefer if an attempt were made to balance out the races. I understand that humans are supposed to be the most common, but I don't understand why certain races have to be entirely useless.

Im willing to play a dragon, the only problem with that would be having to code in a whole BUNCH of stuff im sure the imms wouldnt want to do. Since a dragon needs to mature id play loads upon loads of hours and keep them long enough to mature. Every stage of maturity should have its own certain stats, sucking terribly at first, then getting better when they mature fully. Also, since dragons use their claws, they would have to have some other hand to hand skills coded in.

That's a really great idea, Terrible_Ideafactory.

While we're at it, let's add in Hollow so we can eventually get Arrancar at GM.
This, of course, requires the Shinigami and would cause the Afterlife to be much more interesting (and death permanent).

I'm always in favour of a new race or class, but Illithid wouldn't be my first choice for another. I think Dulrik hit the mark when he added minotaurs. They fit in real well with this game world.

I'm very satisified with the variety of races out there right now. I'd prefer to see a new class before I'd like to see a new race. But a new class is alot of work. Seven years it took for bards.

Although i'm not against Illithids, I think the psonics as mentioned in D & D and stuff would make it just not worth doing. Dulrik would have such a mountain of work to do to add a new type of magic to the game that he couldn't even start this until he retired from his real life career.

You mean the 24-25 int change?
There was never a difference between 24 and 25 on intelligence.

The change was made, so people would not ask for their intelligence to be 25 after their age tick...to just realise it does absolutely nothing.

I believe there is a bug somewhere there and it was a very nice way to cover it up. You give delfs 24 int with no possibility of advancing.
Problem solved.-
