Idea:

Instead of having protection spell for grays give them half the protection against both light and dark, let them choose which aura they want to be fully protected from. For example,

c 'protection' good
or
c 'protection' evil

Thoughts?

It's definitely a buff. Is there a reason grey-auras need a buff? If so, I'm open to the idea.

I don't believe this is a good idea. You don't get to choose how your holy word affects people, either. All or nothing. (And all, in this case, would be quite overpowered).

EDIT: Word use edited because I am by no means the final spokesman.

grays actually already receive complete immunities against certain spells already, most of them game changing ones

I for one would argue for all alignment-based spells to half-effect greys, quite the opposite of the opening suggestions. Evil and Good holy words would be interesting if both affect unprincipled creatures with half efficacy in return for the flexibility of the greys.

Death to the relativists.

How about we remove protection for grays completely? That sounds like a great change.

I think Jorinthia regrets bringing this up right about now.

Doesn't seem like a realistic buff to me.

Also, it's difficult not to be biased/critical towards ideas that would buff the poster's main character. I usually try to ignore this immediate bias to see how the idea would affect the game and I just don't see this as being necessary.

Sorry.

Well, I can't help it if, as someone who plays a priest, I find myself thinking more about priest spells. The fact kind of stands that protection, in its current form, is less helpful to grays than it is to darks/lights. Even if I don't have the solution, I'm right about the problem.
