I'll just add this has happened to me too, nothing shows in affects, and will agree it's annoying.

Question: Does the strength decrease happen as well in these instances?

I forgot to test it last I had a hellion, if it's just the 1% damage the only inconvenience is popping out of invis - and that isn't likely to happen because the only time it is likely to happen is when you poison two weapons (not sure if you're aware, but just poison it while you are still wielding it and it won't happen) and you switch them mid-combat.

My main concern is that I don't believe this is anywhere near intentional in the code. This kind of 'accidental' and momentary poisoning without anything listed in the affects list is the type of bug that could easily have other internal side-affects.

Runaway code that happens to do something trivial that you can see, may be doing other things that are not so trivial, that you can't see.

Thanks for posting the log.

No strength loss, I did not show it in that testing.

I've known about this for ages. It's a side-affect of how weapon affects work. It's known to not cause other negative side-affects. It's fine the way it is.

In other words, as I said before

. Ooh, maybe it is just Sadr at play too.

I read in another thread that someone didn't ever know that you could poison a weapon you were wielding. But in fact, it was designed such that you were supposed to be poisoning the weapon you were already wielding. I've always liked the semi-drawback where if you hand off a poisoned weapon to someone else, that person takes some poison damage.

It's not a drawback IMO, it's a feature of what you intended with the weapon poisoning. What self-respecting hellion would poison anyone's blade but their own is beyond me any way...wouldn't they think that said person could turn on them with it? After all, evil and selfish alignments are both capable of having the RP for that.

just throwing this out there, but why does it hurt to touch something poisonous? doesn't really make sense given how poison functions everywhere else in the game.

also, the above poster's understanding of what a hellion would/should do is lol-worthy.

Yeah... hellions are honorbound, not paranoid. A hellion should pride himself on having comrades that he knows he can trust.
