Also... I wonder if persuading a sorc to enchant armor or recharge would work. That'd be a deadly PvP tactic.

Why? Do they take long to cast? Or do they use up lots of ME?

Also, thank you OA.

Both of the above. In addition, if they happen to overcharge whatever you persuade them to cast recharge on, there's the explosive chainlightning effect too.

A few tips:

1. Scrolls - Ofc: Charm person, petrification, FoD, w/e

2. Landsknecht / Battle whip - Both really nice reaching weapons.

3. Mood aggressive - If you are in second row as a bard fighting, why would you be mood defensive? (No offense, LaeZ) 3 Hits + Edamage = much better than mood defensive.

4. C Major - If you are solo or If you needa take out a back row sorc/priest or w/e.

5. Songs of sleep - Party pk, Rapes groups.

Mhm, should be set. :)

Mhm, if you're not going to be hit, mood aggressive all the way. I thought Kin was only asking about Solo bards, but the topic's about bard combat overall (well, it is now, anyway).

Now... C major... C major does a little bit of damage, and can crack armor, but the only time I'd actually use it in PK is if the sorc has wimpy 100 set. C major is great for training, though.

hm... I should test out C major's damage.

(also, an additional note about the C major, the first few times I was brought to the wastelands, the group I was with got upset with me, I used C major in battle, and destroyed the Key we needed)

Pfft, I used c major for all of my solo fights.

SOLO in sk (especially as a bard) usually means You + a pet etc

One Player and NPCs = Solo

C major damage will hurt v casters (somewhat, there are still better options), but v meleers its only use is to shatter vials. Pop one on a meleer to shatter vials left out of containers, then concentrate on more useful tactics.

1. Always have something infront of you. I don't care if it's the crappiest pet in the world, do it. A tribunal guard and a pet together is total win.

2. Use scrolls to your advantage. A lot of one hit wonders are can be scribed for you. Take advantage of being able to use them, and use them often.

3. Persuade is a game breaker. Most people think of using persuade to make people attack their own group, but they always overlook the other advantage of persuade. Through out the game there are lots of NPCs that you can persuade to cast variouis buffs on you (I'm not telling you which ones of course  ). Search them out, buff up, persuade them to sit, and they will hold that buff on you for as long as possible. I find this as a Major advantage, unless of course you have an endless supply of pots.

4. I always used hit and run tatics. You are a bard, you don't have the HPs of a barb, so don't count on living when going into a fight. Always be ready to flee when the guys infront of you start going down. If you do flee, run to the nearest pet shop, or tribunal guard and remake your group real fast and come back before the enemy has time to recoup.

You can also use B Aug to your advantage and kite around someone with a simple power cord. This tatic can be challenging if you don't know your surroundings since it will hit any NPCs with in earshot, so as successful as it can be it can be an equal total failure if you do not know who you are hitting.

I always wondered if, Odysseus style, you were immune to power chords when deafened...

You aren't, but you do take reduced damage and the secondary effects of F Minor are reduced as well.
