I wish forums had an "I like this" option like on Facebook so if I liked someone's comment, I could let them know, without making an entire new post or really going into too much detail.

Turon, ILY, but QQ. I don't think I've ever had an IMM return randomly crumbling gear ever, even if they were containers.

loot is not thaaaat important

You seem to have me confused with a hoarder. When I have a furied barbarian attacking me, having an adamantite helmet with great protection on it between their weapon and my face is actually extremely important: It can make the difference between a win and a loss of a war, even. In the same vein, it also had willpower on it, and not getting charmed/slept/feebleminded/*insert religious spell*'ed is also very important to me: It can make the difference in a fight.
I didn't make this post to QQ, I made it to A) Figure out why it happened and B) if it happened reliably with that specific piece, to warn others of the problem. My question was answered.

I once had a very large Imm-guided RP. I got a backpack out of it, and the backpack crumbled before I logged off. I wonder if that happens with all imm-generated equipment.

I got a set of Imm generated pink stuff, dunno, a couple years back that lasted a while, so I say no, not all stuff will.

Definitely not. Maylu toted around her fuzzy teddy bear for IC years, and it exchanged hands several times with all the PKs going on. Never crumbled.

I'm surprised an immortal gave you a piece of equipment. I don't mean to imply any genuine vs. non-genuine debate about the incident you reported, but it's really not the norm.

I've lost lots of items and a container and everything inside of it to a bug and they said "Sorry can't do anything for you, find new things.".

I guess some get better treatment? :-? *shrugs*

I think it mostly depend on your attitude. If you go something like this: "OMG I lost my things to a bug, give me new things" or if you in any way indicate that you're contacting the Imm for the sole purpose of getting your lewt, you can forget it.

However, I've found that if you contact an Imm, politely explain your situation and inform them of a possible bug, you may get lucky and receive your lewtzor back.

Also, a history of having cursed out/at an IMM probably is a huge impediment for you, Jeckel.
