There are plenty of items in the game that conflict with container/ED tags. Why should signet rings warrant special consideration?

How difficult would it be to code it so what you are wearing/carrying is the last thing checked for situations like this? I think that may solve some issues with exits, doors, signs, etc.

I was after a solution to the problem rather than a single instance, of course.

LOOK ROOM.SIGN would have fixed this particular example, I would have thought. Feel free to present other conflicts so we can make sure a work-around exists even if it's awkward (and preferably without removing equipment).

But if you "look se" and the thing that you see is the door, wouldn't that also be the first thing you unlock?

Why should it? Look and unlock are different commands, and therefore have different priorities.
