The difference is that remove compulsion is atleast limited to cloth priests, where dispel magic is a spell that anyone with the stave or scroll skill can make use of.

I'd just let warlocks have a pet and an elemental.

No. Magma spray definitely needs to have a 10% chance of deleting a victim's pfile when successfully cast.

Code:
Alaquel utters the words, 'waowa gsgrul'.
Alaquel unleashes a torrent of magma on Dark-Avenger, charring his flesh severely!
Dark-Avenger howls in agony as the magma clings to his body!
Dark-Avenger's skin blackens from the unquenchable magma.
Burning magma causes Dark-Avenger to collapse into a pile of ash!
Someone has left the game.

The no-pet rule is a stupid one that hasn't even the weakest of intelligible IC reasons to exist. If I've got an elemental with me, why can't I go buy a puppy too? If I'm riding around on my pet horse, why can't I conjure an elemental? What do Hammer warlocks do? Just get screwed?

The dispel aspect of an elemental is fine. Sorcs + necros + hellions can have their charmies cancelled, it makes sense that an elemental can be dispelled. I'm inclined to think this should reset the timer, though.

Earthquake had the damage boosted sometime since my last warlock. These days I think it's a pretty useful + cool spell- was one of the first spells that I perfected.

I've said it before, I'll say again. I love warlocks. One of the coolest classes in the game by far.

Earthquake was also severely nerf-batted since the last time you used it. It's not exactly smart to use in 85% of cases.

Since they have npc's throwing axes, spears, daggers etc...Earthquake is pretty useless in training now.

I swear, that throwing script is so ridiculous. It completely rapes all the caster classes.

Dulrik, can you please make some changes that make the game more fun, and not more of a pain in the [REDACTED]. We'd all love you.

No, the last time I used it was within the past 2 weeks.

The spell as it is now is definitely better than it was when I had my previous warlock, some years ago. I've found the spell as it is now to be extremely utilitarian and useful, if typically useless in PK.

When using it for levelling, you can simply choose smarter targets. Ask what prevents a NPC from throwing weapons and select appropriately.

The thing is, I'm not asking for warlock's elementals to be undispellable. That's not it at all, but they need some save vs it. So far -every- timea NPC has ever casted dispel on my elemental, it's worked. that's like 10/10 times literally and it's normally one of the first spells they cast when the NPC misses a bash.

As for earthquake, the damage sucks and with the throw code, you're guaranteed to get destroyed, even with stoneskin before you kill any NPCs. Like I siad, it takes about 15+ to kill a NPC my level and i can hit myself and it literally does about 3-5% dmg on a max con max HP deep-elf warlock. That's pretty low damage...Magma done like 32% when it clung and about 12ish on normal hits.

I suspect that's intentional, since an elemental lets you slice through lots of NPCs essentially risk-free. There's a reason we have golems guarding so many of the cool areas.

Warlocks can do lots of fun things, but they do have to pick their targets or bring a buddy.
