Yeah, it's never like this and I've been in jail 1000000 times. :P

I'm reasonably certain that it is rounding down to the nearest whole number of days. The apparently non-standard behavior might be accounted for if you had some sort of extenuating circumstances that extended your sentence by a partial day. Maybe if you were re-captured after serving some of your time? It's been awhile since I've touched this code, so these are just guesses.

This has happened to me before, and for some reason seemed related to me having been broken out of that jail before and getting arrested after.

First time I ever went to jail there.

But I did have to spend extra time for being naked because someone had just killed me.

Nearly all offenses apply a full day or multiples thereof.

I'd say this situation is rare because (a) few people knew about OUTLAW STATUS reporting your remaining hours, and (b) not many people end up with the additional few hours due to insufficient funds/equipment etc.

Shouldn't be too hard to confirm.

Your b point is flawed. Most people end up with extra time added on because of the sky-high requirements for eq level during confiscation.

I seriously do not think I've ever went to jail that I haven't gotten extra time added...

Your time perspective is shorter than mine. 'Extra time' is a new feature.

We had this conversation before and I can't remember what came of it - I thought some authority figure agreed that it would make sense to drop the height of the levell requirement on eq for criminals, since the average "level" of an item carried around by "decked out" GMs is probably in the 40 range.

Do we really need more reasons to make people be logged on but not participating in the game?

Umm... maybe I ended up being cryptic without intending to be.

Nothing has changed in the last few days or weeks.

I've played Shatterd Kingdoms for nearly 10 years; the concept of adding a jail sentence due to not carrying sufficient equipment, which was introduced to stop characters going naked and surrending to the law, is relatively new across that timespan.

But I understand that folks who've been playing the last year or so wouldn't think of it as 'new' though. That was my point.
