I do agree the length of the spell should be shortened, no reason such a spell needs to really last that long anyways. The objective is to drop ones hit rating and disorient them long enough to put them six feet under. The current length however does allow one to grief others, which at the moment I do currently enjoy.

Exactly my point. By shortening its duration, you still keep it a huge burden in pvp, and yet, not THAT annoying while leveling. The time blindness lasts now is more than enough to wtfpwn someone tenths of times. It's more of a harassment tool than anything else.

As for grep, I will not respond since his only interest seems to be showing us what a raging queen he can be.

As a new player, these are my experiences with blindness.

While travelling through Skybolt and the Undead Village I discovered to my dismay that many enemies would kick dirt into my eye. I had no idea there are herbs to cure this, nor where to find such herbs. I eventually learned to get a pet and stand behind it (as opposed to riding it) but this was an absurd solution from a roleplaying perspective.

I spoke to several people about buying goggles only to find out that no such item exists. I trained cure blindness only to find out that it did not cure dirt-kicks. Until I discovered the pet exploit, all I could do was cast cure light on myself and pray that my melee would prove sufficient.

First off - if there is a "pet exploit" I would not brag about it in the forums, I would bug log and not use it. Using exploits is a deletable offense.

Second, There are no "goggles" but there are eye-ball washers out there. You have to hold them in your hand and use a special command. Poof! Dirt be gone!

Third, this thread is more about the spell "blindness" which your "cure blindness" would solve. The duration on blindness is about 15-30 minutes, depending upon what cast it on you. Very not fun sitting around blind after being out of combat for 10+ minutes. As others have stated - there are plenty of ways to get rid of it or even to continue on while blind but the duration is still an issue.

I'm thinking the 'pet exploit' Incandex referred to was using a store-bought pet as a tank to absorb dirt kicks. Not really an exploit considering anyone in their right mind would use it the same way.

Yes, this is the exploit I am speaking about.

Yeah, and the eye-washers are SUPER-USEFUL when no one bothers to tell new players about them, aren't they!?!??!??!
