I am having a serious problem with the leveling structure of this game, my char is a scout with max Cha and I cleared a series of rooms that would normally offer other characters several ticks of xp for clearing and didn't gain a tick. I also just recently discovered this area, what am I maybe doing wrong? Or is it just this hard to level up now.

Edit, these NPCs are also a tough challenge, I am white aura they are grey/ dark

Are you creating helpless opponents?

Do you have a pet doing substantially more damage than you?

Are your opponents fresh kills? (Have they been stunned?)

Those are some of the questions that immediately pop into my head.

I am aiming upper, no loss of limbs, as far as I know my pet isn't doing a serious amount of damage more than me, it is actually weaker than I.
On the fresh kill part I am not sure, I have made it so my pet is stunning so I can kill it instead of it, and see if that changes anything

Past Veteran status, it should be more difficult to gain XP. TO Veteran, it should be alarmingly easy. For example:

Code:
 o    Status: Veteran(1)        Race: Giant            Class: Barbarian      o
 o   Kingdom: Taslamar         Cabal: Independent                            o
 o===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===o
 o     Coins: 8 platinum, 8 silver, 5 copper                                 o
 o  Carrying: 2/14 items                    Load: 297.2/489.0 pounds         o
 o===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===o
 o    Health: Scratched       Mental: Pulsating     Physical: Beat           o
 o Attribute points: 0        Wimpy:   0 percent    Mode: Kill/aggressive    o
 o===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===-===o
 o You are sleeping.                                                         o
 o You have just begun your journey to the next level.                       o
 o You have played 7 hour(s) so far.

I was able to get to Vet(1) in 7 hours and that's with a giant's Cha.

It seems a little different when it comes to expert players of the game. I always hear about them getting to vet or expert in less than ten hours. I have no idea how they do it, being a normal player one who isn't quite newbie but isn't up to par with the big boys. It takes me nearly 20 hours to get to vet.

After vet things just seem harder but i think that's how it is suppose to be. I have more trouble playing Light hearts after vet than i do any other alignment. Mostly I think it has something to do with the amount of areas there are for lighties to train in during that time frame. I personally only know 3 places and all of them offer limited NPCs to kill, 5 NPCs in this area, 6 in the other, a few pirates, ect ect.

My advice is to just stick with it, at expert you have places that are much bigger to train in. Make sure you are fighting aggressively, I hear that helps. I know I don't have to tell you that the more damage you put out the more xp you get, or at least that's how i understand it. So to me, I would figure training with your spear instead of your arrows. But you'd have to ask an expert player about which gives more damage.

Aim lower. Seriously, it helps a lot!
