:(

I get that the game is going to crash every now and then, but I had just made a new character - I was not in the middle of creating her, I had CREATED her - and was training and everything - and when the game came back up, she was gone. It's just an inconvenience for stats and everything.

I see you've adopted my old signature, It's nice. I like it too.

It's happened to me too, jennbo. A pain, especially when you had just enough time to get everything set the way you like before you log back in to see the game treat you like a new character all over again.

If it was a scheduled reboot, you would have been 'saved'.

A crash however can catch the disk i/o event sleeping. A suggestion for the IDEA command could be for Dulrik to force an automatic SAVE when you kick through into your chosen kingdom.

Kingdom Directors may even be able to try that out, come to think of it; Not sure if scripts can do a 'SAVE' command. There's some lag impact to consider though (to the MUD, and also toward the newbie who might not understand why they are waiting a few seconds).
