Yes, I died again.

So here's another idea.

Is there a way that shamans can have a no-corpse raise dead spell? The problem is that now if you die and can't find a shaman before the reboot (which is every other day?), you have to eat it and take the reincarnation route because your corpse is gone. Whereas everyone else just can resurrect with no side effects minus a loss of gear (which compared to a level isn't that bad).

I suppose you can use the Oracle too, but I'm thinking a more permanent route.

Anyways, thoughts?

Wait, why can't you use resurrection?

Well, really only for RP purposes.

From the shaman help-file:

Quote:
They worship the spirits of their ancestors instead of the gods.

and the minotaur-culture help-file

Quote:
But the minotaur also cursed themselves for even once trusting in
the power of gods over spirits.

Are you sure? Because I KNOW that happened to me and another character awhile back and yet.. corpses were still there. Surprised the hell out of me because that USED to be the case, not 100% sure anymore.

I'm pretty sure the game saves corpses in between reboots, so you don't lose your things if your corpse is on the ground when the reboot comes along. That's a recent change, though.

I'm also inclined to say that if you want to rp being someone who doesn't accept resurrections, you should die less or just accept that this rp choice has consequences.

Might be interesting to give shaman a rez spell that only works on pcs the same race as them.

As Baldric said, the reboot shouldn't be ganking your corpse. It will decay after about 8 hours IRL, however.

Stop dying.

They're also right about the corpse thing: But you're going to be hard pressed in general to play a character that only accepts raises from shaman.

Yeah, Like I said to your character icly...theres barely any shamans, you'll have a really hard time with getting a raise.

Since shamans and barbarians are more of the wild characters and RP wise are supposed to steer away from magic. Shamans are in link with the spirits and barbarians follow them in that respect. Following RP, the two classes stay away from magic and gods, therefore they would not ask for assistance from a god when the spirits are guiding them.

Yes, it is much easier to accept a resurrection because you get alive right away and suffer no consequence, but characters die. What if shamans could rez only shamans and barbs to make the two more dependent on each other and open up greater RP? It would follow the RP that is supposed to be there (in my interpretation of it).
