Isn't Nerina a place for people from all walks of life?

Isn't Nerina supposed to be a city for all alignments? Deep-elves can't start in Ayamoa or Tasl but they can start in Zhenshi, and the Same for elves in the Empire or Wastes but Zhenshi Hell yes they can.

Why oh why is this city supposedly run by a council of light hearted plaster faces when in all reality it needs an agenda not based on Aura?

I made the poll to see if people would like to see Nerina changed.

So my question is what do you think Nerina should be?

Zhenshi's always been my favorite country, and Nerina's the only capital in the game I trust myself enough of to maneuver it with a blinded character.

Now, as for the "above the tribunal" stuff...

To me, this seems like the kind of thing your character should bring up in game, to other characters, start a movement going, get some RP done towards changing the council of blossoms, then when it "happens" you send a message to the Immortals, requesting that they code in the change.

Viva la Nerina! Viva la council la blossoms! Viva la something dramatic!

This just reminded me. Why is there an elf shopkeeper in Menegroth? That elf must get smashed a lot.

Interesting ongoing RPs that you might be able to work yourself into already afoot.

In a way this would make things a little more balanced, technically. Darkies are hindered by the fact that they can be at war with each other. The light(ish) sort of federation of countries (ayamao, zhensh, tasl)rarely ever fight (yes I know they are fighting now), and are at worst neutral with one another.

If you were to transform Zhenshi into something completely different than it's light-grey origins (the aura of the Council) then you would give the light side a wild card to deal with rather than what is normally a fairly stable ally/truce status.

In practice though lighties have enough problems hahaha.

Furthermore I've always liked the current character of Zhenshi. There would have to be some corrupting event to change it to a truly "auraless" place that could be swayed to any power... i.e maybe the way Teron would be if it were to have a tribunal. Could be interesting but I'd miss it.

Nerina is grey. It is basically supposed to be Teron without the stupidity. It allows necromancers, but has no necromancer trainers and attacks undead. Nerina is the perfect tribunal for dogmatic characters; there is no better option.

Nerina has to fall on either side of a hazy line in the sand, which means its tribunal leader is given a good deal of expressive power. The potential for corruption in Nerina is huge: Nytomi systematically threw Jenji in front of a bus to inherit leadership last year, for example, and put Jorinthia in charge of kicking butts and taking names.

"Anyone is welcome here" is not true of anywhere in the game. The reason Nerina becomes fail is because people expect to hug and kiss their way into the inn and then PK people and act like, I don't know, that their crimes don't reflect on their race, creed, or religion at all.

I tell newbies to avoid the heck out of Nerina. It, like Camelot, is a silly place.

As for Menegroth, it is a city full of amazing things. My favorite is probably the dress-up party.

I rather like nerina, but I find it odd that only -some- NPCs attack undead on sight (the Human guards o.O unless that's been changed.) I also hate how all the guards sneer at deep-elves and such. If it's supposed to be a place that welcomes all, then the guards need some serious sensitivity training :P
