When it's written that "Various announcements will be made on twitter" does that mean we'll need to make a twitter account to keep up with everything SK?

First and foremost, you can view twitter content without an account. However I can understand the concern of whether non-twitter users will 'miss out' on content/announcements, etc. Three points on this:

1. At this early stage the policy of what gets posted is very relaxed - it could be a bonanza comment, a hint about the website content, perhaps even a reference to an IC happening (the last category only allowed if certain conditions are met).

2. One of the draft proposals of mine is that we have a forum thread in announcements that contains the twitter posts; i.e. you can read the information in either place, no twitter account required. I can't promise this will happen soon, or at all.

3. If the service impact turns out differently than we planned for some reason, then obviously a lot of the above could easily become moot.

I am trying to stay as far away from twitter as possible, it seems too pointless for me. I'm in favor of getting that passed through!

I'd like an RSS news feed for a staff-run announcement blog instead of a twitter, if we're allowed to make requests.

I doubt I'll ever use twitter. I wouldn't mind being a paparazzi in the future though, and just photograph celebs for a living when I get into my forties. Maybe I can get a Greencard or something and go to the U.S.A.

The reason I bring this up basically is because I am bored and in jail and two because no one seems to know what Twitter is. But I do. I know about it becasue celebs often twitter stuff and people on the internet make fun of them for it.
