Because, EVERY CLASS could pick up a little stone and throw it using a sling. It makes perfect sense. It takes no finesse, no skill (though with practice you can get all David with it), and the only thing I could possibly think of that would make MORE sense is if there were more random sling stones scattered all over the ground. You should be able to pick up a rock in the wilderness and catapault it at that snake over there. I'd even argue that a sling should go in the newbie kit.

I was just looking over my priest skill/spell set and thinking... why are these things here? I never use them.

I would gladly trade in sling, crossbow, detect poison, faerie fire, and either detect aura or know alignment (not both) for say, DODGE.

Faerie fire is a pretty awesome leveling spell.

Also a pretty awesome pvp spell sometimes.

Whichever aura detection spell you give up, you should donate to the shamans.

Auras don't matter to shamans. Or else they should get protection too.
